Face covers slow down the spread of the virus when used with other preventive measures such as social distancing, application of sanitizers, getting vaccinated, and frequent handwashing. Masks obstruct the germs from the respiratory droplets to enter the other person’s body through the mouth or nostrils. The risk of transmission of these viruses is when a person talks, coughs, or sneezes.
